Facts checked against both vendors on September 28, 2026.
Jasper is the stronger choice for a marketing team that wants brand-governed content creation, with a self-serve Pro seat at $69 a month or $59 a month billed annually. Copy.ai has moved away from copywriting and now sells go-to-market automation: its Chat plan at $29 a month for five seats is the only self-serve tier, and the workflow plans start at $12,000 a year. If you want a writing tool, Jasper. If you want to automate prospecting, lead processing and CRM enrichment across a sales and marketing team, Copy.ai.
An AI-driven platform for efficient, high-quality content creation and marketing strategy enhancement.
Jasper and Copy.ai launched within months of each other as AI copywriting assistants, and buyers still compare them as if they were the same category. They are not any more. Jasper has stayed close to marketing content and built a governance layer around it. Copy.ai has repositioned as a go-to-market platform where the writing is one output of a larger automated workflow.
This comparison covers what each product now is, what each costs on the vendor's own pricing page as of September 2026, and which kind of team each one fits.
Jasper describes itself as the agent workspace built for modern marketing teams. The product has three working surfaces: Canvas for drafting and collaborating, Chat for guided exploration, and Grid for running the same job across many rows at once. On top of those sit more than 100 marketing agents for tasks such as blog posts, landing pages, email sequences, search ads, keyword research, competitor audits, schema markup and translation into 27 languages. Everything the agents produce is shaped by Jasper IQ, the context layer that holds Brand Voice, style guides, Knowledge assets, Audiences and product information. Jasper Studio lets a team build its own agents without engineering. There are image pipelines and image APIs, a browser extension, an integrations marketplace and an MCP server for pushing Jasper's brand context into other AI tools.
Copy.ai calls itself the first AI-native GTM platform. Its building blocks are Workflows (multi-step automations), Actions (the steps inside them), Agents (task automation with guardrails), Tables (a queryable data layer that pulls in outside sources), Chat, an Infobase for company knowledge and a Brand Voice. The named use cases on the home page are a prospecting cockpit, inbound lead processing, account-based marketing, content creation, translation and localization, deal coaching and forecasting, lead and account intelligence and CRM enrichment. Copy.ai is model-agnostic across OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and Perplexity and lists integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, Zapier, Outreach and Salesloft. The old copywriting templates survive as a library of more than 70 free single-purpose generators on the tools page.
Jasper Pro is $69 per seat a month, or $59 per seat a month on annual billing, and includes one seat. It comes with Canvas, agents for core marketing workflows, two Brand Voices, five Knowledge assets, three Audiences, more than 30 languages, image generation and editing, the browser extension, the integrations marketplace, a plagiarism checker and personal usage analytics. Adding users means moving to Business, which is custom priced, carries a minimum 12-month commitment, and adds unlimited users, agents for complex workflows such as GEO, translation and research, the no-code custom agent builder, Grid, unlimited Brand Voices, Knowledge and Audiences, API access, admin controls, role-based permissions, SSO and SAML and a dedicated account manager. Some Business features, including GEO Hub and Agents, are metered in credits alongside the seat price. There is a seven-day free trial.
Copy.ai's self-serve entry point is Chat at $29 a month, or $24 a month billed annually ($288 a year), which covers five seats, unlimited words in chat, unlimited chat projects and access to OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models. The workflow tiers are annual only: Growth is $1,000 a month billed as $12,000 a year with 75 seats and 20,000 workflow credits a month, Expansion is $2,000 a month billed as $24,000 a year with 150 seats and 45,000 credits, and Scale is $3,000 a month billed as $36,000 a year with 200 seats and 75,000 credits. Enterprise is custom, with unlimited seats, guided implementation, API access, more than 20 integrations, a designated support team and enterprise security.
Jasper is still a content tool for people who write. Canvas is a document editor with the brand layer built in, and the Pro seat gives an individual marketer a full product, including image generation, a plagiarism checker and a browser extension, without talking to sales. Copy.ai's $29 Chat plan is a chat window; the parts that make Copy.ai distinctive are locked behind the $12,000 a year Growth tier.
Brand governance is deeper. Jasper IQ separates Brand IQ (voice, style guides, visual guidelines), Marketing IQ (audiences and campaign guidance) and Product IQ (product knowledge), and the Knowledge Base accepts documents, audio and video as source material. Copy.ai has a Brand Voice and an Infobase, which cover the basics but are not the center of the product.
Jasper has invested in search and answer-engine optimization: an Optimization Agent for SEO, AEO and GEO work, an AI Readiness Score, entity mapping, gap finding, schema markup and a GEO diagnostic that measures how often AI answer engines cite your brand. Translation runs through a dedicated agent with brand-accurate terminology across 27 languages. Grid gives a no-code way to run any of this across a spreadsheet of inputs.
Copy.ai is the better product if the job is a process rather than a piece of copy. Workflows chain research, enrichment, generation and delivery into a single automation, Tables hold the data those workflows read and write, and Agents run targeted tasks unattended. The named use cases are sales operations tasks first: prospecting, inbound lead routing, CRM enrichment and deal coaching. Jasper has agents and Grid for scale, but it does not try to be a system of record for go-to-market data.
Integrations go deeper into the revenue stack. Copy.ai names Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, Outreach and Salesloft alongside Zapier and claims more than 2,000 integrations in total. Jasper's marketplace and MCP server are aimed at content and marketing tools.
Model choice is explicit. Copy.ai lets you pick from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and Perplexity models per task, which matters if your team has views about which model handles which job. Seat economics are also different: the Chat plan includes five seats for $29 a month, and the Growth tier's 75 seats for $12,000 a year works out to far less per seat than Jasper Pro, provided you actually have that many people to put on it.
Pick Jasper if you are a marketer or a marketing team that produces blog posts, landing pages, emails, ads and social content and wants every draft to follow a documented brand voice. It is the only one of the two with a proper self-serve seat, and the Business tier is a sensible upgrade path once you need Grid, custom agents, SSO and more than one user.
Pick Copy.ai if you run revenue operations or a combined sales and marketing function and the problem is repetitive process work: qualifying leads, enriching accounts, drafting outreach at volume, keeping the CRM current. Budget for the Growth tier or above, because the Chat plan on its own does not deliver the workflow product. If you only want a cheap AI writing window, neither is the obvious answer; Jasper Pro is the closer fit, but a general chat assistant may do.
