About Atua
Atua is a macOS app that puts AI models behind a keyboard shortcut in any application. Press Option Space, or select text and trigger a command, and Atua sends your prompt along with context from the screen to the model of your choice, so you do not have to switch windows. Context can include selected text, the clipboard, screenshots, screen OCR, window content and voice transcripts.
You build custom commands once, each with its own prompt, hotkey, model and output mode, for tasks such as polishing, summarizing or translating text. Commands can also act: Atua can read and write to Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Finder and Shortcuts, run shell and HTTP calls, and connect to external MCP servers such as GitHub, Postgres, Slack and Notion. Voice input and Voice Paste run locally on the Mac.
Atua is bring your own key. It supports providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Mistral, DeepSeek, xAI, Perplexity, Together AI, Fireworks, Cerebras, DeepInfra, Hugging Face, Cohere and OpenRouter, local runners Ollama and LM Studio, and any OpenAI compatible endpoint. The vendor states there are no accounts or analytics, and network requests happen only for AI calls and updates.
It suits developers, writers and other power users on Mac. Pricing is a one time lifetime license at $29 with no subscription, and the site advertises a 7 day money back guarantee. You pay your chosen AI provider separately for model usage.
