FLUX.1

FLUX.1 is the first generation of text to image models from Black Forest Labs. The family includes FLUX.1 [pro], the original API model; FLUX.1 [dev], an open weight, guidance distilled model for non commercial use; FLUX.1 [schnell], a fast Apache 2.0 licensed model for local use; FLUX 1.1 [pro] and FLUX 1.1 [pro] Ultra, faster successors with output up to 4 megapixels; and FLUX.1 Kontext, which generates and edits images in context from a reference. The models are used by developers integrating generation into products, by enterprises, and by hobbyists running open weights locally through tools such as ComfyUI. Black Forest Labs offers three routes: its own API, open weights on Hugging Face and GitHub for self hosting, and a browser playground. FLUX.1 models also run on Replicate, fal.ai, Together and other hosts. API pricing is pay per use with no subscription or seat fees. FLUX 1.1 [pro] is $0.04 per image, FLUX 1.1 [pro] Ultra $0.06, FLUX.1 Kontext [pro] $0.04 and FLUX.1 Kontext [max] $0.08. For comparison, the newer FLUX.2 [pro] is $0.03 for the first megapixel and $0.015 for each additional one, and FLUX.2 [max] is $0.07 then $0.03. Commercial licenses for the open weight models come in Builder, Platform, Professional, Enterprise and Synthetic Data tiers with image volume and domain limits; their prices are quoted by sales. FLUX.1 is now a previous generation. New projects should start from FLUX.2 or FLUX 3 unless a FLUX.1 checkpoint is already in use.
