About Audioread
Audioread converts written material into audio and delivers it wherever a person already listens. Users save an article by URL, forward an email, upload a PDF, DOCX or plain text file, or subscribe to an RSS or Atom feed, and the service reads the content aloud with AI voices. The audio plays in the Audioread web and mobile apps, or syncs as a private podcast feed to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, Pocket Casts and other podcast players.
It suits commuters, students, professionals working through reading backlogs, language learners and people with dyslexia or ADHD who prefer listening to reading. The vendor lists nearly 1,000 voices across more than 150 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Arabic, Hindi and Portuguese. Capture points include iOS and Android apps, extensions for Chrome, Edge and Brave, a Safari Shortcut, a Slack integration and a developer API. Playback offers adjustable speed, offline downloads and MP3 export, and built in AI summaries and an optional 30 day auto delete privacy mode round out the feature set.
