Buffer's AI Assistant is the writing helper built into Buffer's social media scheduling platform. It brainstorms post ideas, rewrites drafts, repurposes one post into several formats, and adjusts tone, length, style or structure, with output tailored to the conventions of each network. It suits creators, small businesses, agencies, nonprofits and educational institutions that already plan and publish through Buffer. The assistant works on posts for LinkedIn, Threads, X, Instagram, Bluesky, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Mastodon and Substack, and it sits alongside Buffer's scheduling, ideas board, analytics, community inbox and API. Buffer states that the assistant runs on OpenAI language models and sends only the text typed into the assistant, never account details or media files. The assistant itself is free: Buffer states it can be used without limits on a free account, and it is included on every plan. Buffer's plans are Free at $0 for up to three channels, ten scheduled posts per channel, 100 ideas and one user; Essentials at $5 per channel per month or $60 per channel per year with unlimited posts and ideas, advanced analytics, a hashtag manager and first comment scheduling; and Team at $10 per channel per month or $120 per channel per year with unlimited team members, approval workflows, custom access levels and branded reports. Paid plans carry a 14 day trial, and per channel volume discounts apply after ten channels.
