About AgentGPT
AgentGPT is a browser based tool from Reworkd for configuring and running autonomous AI agents. A user gives an agent a name and a goal, presses deploy, and watches it break the goal into tasks, execute them one at a time and report results. Example agents on the site include ResearchGPT for compiling a report on a company, TravelGPT for planning an itinerary and StudyGPT for building an exam study plan.
The hosted version at agentgpt.reworkd.ai still loads and is labeled as a beta, with a free allowance shown in the interface as five runs of the AgentGPT 3.5 model. It suits people who want to try goal driven agent loops without writing code, and developers who want to self host. The project is open source under the GPL 3.0 license, built with Next.js, TypeScript, a FastAPI backend, Prisma and a MySQL database, and it requires an OpenAI API key, with optional Serper and Replicate keys for search and image generation. Setup scripts for Mac, Linux and Windows are included in the repository.
Pricing is not published. The hosted app offers the free run allowance, and there is no paid plan page. Self hosting costs only the OpenAI usage the agent generates.
The important fact for buyers is that development has stopped. The GitHub repository was archived on January 28, 2026 and is read only, so no further updates, fixes or security patches should be expected, and the landing page now invites visitors to apply for Reworkd's web scraping agents instead. AgentGPT remains usable as a demonstration and as a code base to fork, but it should be treated as a discontinued product rather than a maintained platform.
