About BLACKBOX.AI
BLACKBOX.AI began as a coding assistant and now presents itself as Blackbox, a high trust platform for frontier inference. The company sells encrypted access to AI models with zero data retention: prompts are encrypted before they leave the user's machine and decrypted only where the model runs. The developer tools remain in the lineup, with a CLI that reads the conventions of a repository, a Visual Studio Code extension, a browser workspace, and an Agents API that dispatches coding agents over HTTP, streams their logs and opens pull requests from isolated cloud sandboxes.
It is aimed at engineering organizations that want one governed endpoint for many models. The Blackbox Router exposes more than 300 open and closed models through a single OpenAI compatible REST and streaming API with tool calling, structured output, web search and reasoning tokens. Enterprise Inference provides dedicated single tenant deployments of open weight models on reserved GPU capacity, with data residency options, SAML SSO, SCIM, role based access and audit logs. A multi agent feature can send the same task to Blackbox, Claude Code, Codex and Gemini at once, then have a chairman model pick the strongest implementation for human review. Supported models include Claude Opus 4.6, GPT 5.2, Gemini 3, Grok 4, Llama and Mistral.
Pricing is enterprise only and quote based. Customers sign an annual commitment through a purchase order, buy a token balance that burns down at published per token list rates, and receive a 5 percent discount on closed models and 10 percent on open weight models. Example list rates include DeepSeek v4.1 flash at $0.30 input and $1.20 output per million tokens. There are no platform fees, markups or per seat charges, and no free tier is published.
Buyers who remember the earlier consumer coding assistant should note the pivot: the public site now leads with enterprise inference and a Microsoft Azure partnership rather than individual subscriptions.
