About CoCalc
CoCalc is a collaborative computing platform from SageMath, Inc. that places AI coding agents inside a shared project alongside files, software, running services and collaborators. The vendor says CoCalc has offered collaborative computing online since 2013, and the current site is branded around building and using software with AI.
Agents work in the same project as everyone else. An integrated Codex agent operates through the project chat with access to files, terminals, commands and live notebook state, Claude Code is offered as an experimental preview on sites that enable it and works with a personal Claude Pro or Max subscription, and other command line agents can be installed and run in project terminals. Collaborators see edits live, and earlier versions can be restored. The platform also provides Linux terminals, notebooks and applications built on open source tools, which suits researchers, educators and technical teams.
