About Consensus
Consensus is an AI search engine for peer reviewed literature. Instead of ranking web pages it indexes more than 220 million scientific papers and answers a research question with a synthesized summary that cites the underlying studies, so a user can check the evidence rather than take a chatbot's word for it. Search modes range from a basic paper search to Pro Search and Deep Search, which reads more papers and produces a longer report.
It is designed for academics, clinicians, analysts and students who need a defensible answer quickly. The Consensus Meter shows how much of the literature answers yes, no or possibly to a yes or no question. Study Snapshots summarize the population, method and findings of each paper, Ask Paper opens a chat with a single paper, a citation graph maps how papers relate, Collections organize a library, and citations export to RIS, BibTeX and CSV. Developers and agent builders can reach the same index through an API and an MCP server.
Pricing is published in three tiers. Free costs $0 and includes basic paper search, 10 Pro messages a month and up to 3 Deep reviews a month. Pro is $12 per month or $144 per year and adds unlimited Pro messages, 15 Deep reviews a month, every research tool and 500 API and MCP uses a month. Deep is $45 per month or $540 per year with 200 Deep reviews and 2,000 API and MCP uses a month.
