Painnt is an iOS photo app from Moonlighting that converts photographs into painted and illustrated renderings. It applies neural style transfer, which the developer describes as AI deep dream processing, to produce results ranging from classical painting styles in the manner of Van Gogh or Picasso through to cartoon and comic book sketches. The filter library runs to more than 2,000 styles and is extended regularly. Beyond the stock set, any image, painting or photograph can be used as the source for a custom style, and custom styles can be shared with other members of the app community. Individual filters are adjustable rather than fixed presets, so a look can be tuned before it is applied, and output resolution can be set low for social posting or high enough for a poster print. The app runs on iPhone and iPad and is localized into more than 20 languages. The app is free to download with in app purchases. The free tier limits output resolution and stamps a watermark on exports. A premium subscription unlocks the full library, HD processing, custom style creation and watermark removal, and is sold at $0.99 per week, $1.99 per month or $9.99 per year. Separate credit packs for training custom styles are listed at $0.99 for five credits and $8.99 for fifty. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto renewal is switched off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and are managed from iOS account settings.
