Textunbox

Textunbox is a set of AI utilities for working with text, images and audio, offered in the browser and through a REST API. It extracts printed or handwritten text from images, including curved or rotated ones, and can return an image description in English. It also translates text between languages, transcribes speech to text, generates images from a text description or from a spoken description, and removes image backgrounds to leave only the foreground object. The services support more than 20 languages, and the site is designed to work on mobile. It is aimed at people who want a quick tool without an account or subscription, and at developers who want to build their own solution on the documented API. A Twitter bot for extracting text from images is listed as coming soon, and a custom ChatGPT chat tool and text to audio conversion are marked as under development. Pricing is based on prepaid units with one time payments rather than a subscription. TextUnbox 100 costs 2.5 euros, TextUnbox 500 costs 6.0 euros, and TextUnbox 1000 costs 9.5 euros. Each pack includes one license key, documentation, support and unlimited future updates. Units are shared across operations, so 100 units cover 100 text recognitions, or 50 translations, or 30 speech transcriptions, or 20 image generations, or 20 background removals, or a mix. Only successful operations count against the balance.
