Writesonic started as an AI copywriting tool, but its current product is an AI search visibility and SEO platform: it tracks how brands appear in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, runs site audits, and generates a set number of AI articles a month. There is no free plan on the pricing page, only a free trial. Starter is $79 a month for tracking 50 prompts, 15 AI articles a month, 10 site audits and a single seat; Basic is $199 a month for 100 prompts, 25 articles, 20 audits and 2 seats; Growth is $399 a month for 200 prompts, 50 articles, 50 audits, sentiment analysis and 3 seats; Enterprise is custom priced. Annual billing is discounted on every tier.
The biggest reason people search for a Writesonic alternative is that the product they signed up for has changed. If you wanted a cheap AI writer for blog posts, ads and product descriptions, the current entry price is $79 a month and the plan is built around AI search tracking and audits, with article generation capped at 15 a month on Starter. Additional articles on Growth cost $100 a month for a pack of 20, and extra seats on Basic are $50 each a month. The free tier that many buyers remember is gone; the pricing page lists only a trial.
That pivot splits former users into two groups. Writers and freelancers who just want generation now need a dedicated writing tool with a lower price, while SEO teams who like the tracking and audits but want more articles, better on-page optimization or established content editors have a choice of specialist platforms. The list below covers both, and every price is taken from the vendor's own page.

Best for: Marketing teams that want long-form content in a stored brand voice, plus agents for campaign workflows.
Jasper is the closest match to what Writesonic used to be for marketers: campaign drafting, blog writing, image generation and editing, and a browser extension, all tied to brand voices and knowledge assets. Jasper Pro is $69 a month per seat, or $59 a month per seat on annual billing, with 2 brand voices, 5 knowledge assets and 3 audiences, after a 7-day free trial. The Business plan is custom priced with a 12-month minimum and adds agents for GEO, translation and deep research, a no-code agent builder, API access and SSO. It is priced per seat rather than per article, so there is no monthly article cap.

Best for: Small teams that want a multi-model chat workspace for drafting, and larger teams that want automated content workflows.
Copy.ai's Chat plan gives a team workspace with unlimited chat projects and a choice of OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models for $29 a month, or $24 a month billed annually ($288 a year), including 5 seats. Its Growth, Expansion and Scale tiers, from $1,000 a month on annual billing, add 20,000 to 75,000 workflow credits a month for automated pipelines such as prospect research and content repurposing. Compared with Writesonic, the entry plan is far cheaper and has no article quota, but Copy.ai does not include AI search tracking or site audits.
Best for: Bloggers and affiliate publishers who want SEO-focused long-form articles at a per-word price.
Koala pairs KoalaWriter, an SEO article generator with real-time data and Amazon product integration, with KoalaChat and a WordPress integration. Every new account gets 5,000 free words and 25 credits without a card. Starter is $25 a month (or $20 a month annually) for 45,000 words and 500 credits, Professional is $49 a month (or $39.20 a month annually) for 100,000 words, a Search Console dashboard and internal linking across 50 sites, and Boost is $99 a month (or $79.20 a month annually) for 250,000 words and a content calendar autopilot. Koala counts words rather than articles, so a $25 plan can produce far more than Writesonic Starter's 15 articles.
Best for: SEO teams that want the content editor and optimization scores Writesonic's audits point toward, plus AI prompt tracking.
Surfer is a content optimization platform with SEO guidelines, content scoring, plagiarism checks and one-click optimization, and it now sells AI search tracking too. Discovery is $49 a month (or $588 a year) for 120 documents and tracking of 10 pages; Standard is $99 a month (or $1,188 a year) for 360 documents, weekly tracking of 25 AI prompts and WordPress and Google Docs integrations; Pro is $182 a month (or $2,184 a year) for daily tracking of 50 AI prompts, 5 brand spaces and internal linking; a separate AI Search Analytics plan is $82 a month for tracking 50 AI prompts daily. Surfer's Discovery plan covers optimization for less than Writesonic Starter, and its analytics plan is roughly comparable on prompt tracking.
Best for: Agencies and content teams that want research, briefs, article generation and decay monitoring on a per-site basis.
Frase combines SERP research, briefs, AI article generation, page audits and Content Guard, which watches published pages for ranking decay. Starter is $49 a month (or $39 a month on yearly billing) for 1 seat, 1 site, 10 articles and 50 audit pages a month; Professional is $129 a month (or $103 a month yearly) for 3 seats, 5 sites, 40 articles and 250 audit pages; Scale is $299 a month (or $239 a month yearly) for 5 seats, up to 10 domains, 100 articles and 1,000 audit pages, with extra seats at $29 a month. Every plan has a 7-day trial without a card. On articles per dollar it beats Writesonic at each tier.
Best for: Teams that want AI search prompt tracking and article generation together at a lower list price than Writesonic.
Scalenut has followed a similar path to Writesonic, combining SEO article generation with tracking of brand mentions across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and, on higher tiers, Perplexity. Its pricing page lists Starter at $59 a month for 5 articles a month and weekly tracking of 10 prompts, Plus at $89 a month for 30 articles, tracking of 25 prompts and up to 4 team members, and Professional at $199 a month for 75 articles, tracking of 100 prompts, unlimited workspaces and a dedicated customer success manager, with a 60 percent promotional discount displayed at the time of checking. The Plus tier gives twice Writesonic Starter's article allowance for less list price.

Best for: Freelancers and solo creators who want unlimited short-form generation for a few dollars a month.
Rytr is the budget option for people who only ever used Writesonic for emails, ads, descriptions and outlines. The free plan allows 10,000 characters a month; Unlimited is $7.50 a month for unlimited generations, one tone match, a Chrome extension and 50 plagiarism checks a month; Premium is $24.16 a month for more than 35 languages, multiple tone matches, custom use cases and 100 plagiarism checks. Annual billing takes 20 percent off. It has none of Writesonic's tracking or audit features, which is exactly the point for this group of buyers.
If you came to Writesonic for writing, Jasper is the premium replacement for marketing teams, Koala is the best value for SEO blog content, and Rytr is the cheapest way to keep generating short copy. If you came for the AI search tracking and audits, Surfer's plans cover optimization and prompt tracking from $49 a month, Frase offers more articles per dollar with decay monitoring, and Scalenut matches the tracking-plus-articles bundle at a lower list price.
