Adaptive Insights

Adaptive Insights is the planning platform that Workday now markets as Workday Adaptive Planning, and on its overview page as Adaptive from Workday. It is enterprise performance management software for connecting plans across the business: budgeting, forecasting and scenario modeling for finance; headcount, cost and organization design for workforce planning; and sales, demand and supply planning for operations. It also handles close and consolidation, and its in memory calculation engine refreshes plans, reports and dashboards as data changes. It is built for finance and FP&A teams, with a customer base that Workday describes as running from small and medium businesses to large enterprises. Capabilities that matter include what if analysis across multiple scenarios, self service reporting and dashboards, and integration with any ERP or general ledger and with Excel so financial data flows into reports and presentations. The AI layer automates routine tasks, offers recommendations and produces predictive insights with what Workday calls human in the loop governance. Workday states an average deployment time of four and a half months. Workday does not publish pricing for Adaptive Planning. The product pages direct visitors to a free trial or a demo, and pricing is quoted per engagement. The naming history matters when researching it: reviews and documentation refer to the same product as Adaptive Insights, Workday Adaptive Planning and Adaptive, so buyers comparing sources should treat these as one product.
