About Autodesk Forma
Autodesk Forma is Autodesk's cloud software for site planning and early stage design, marketed today as Forma Site Design within the Forma industry cloud for architecture, engineering, construction and operations. Users geolocate a project by map, coordinates or address, pull terrain, existing buildings and context from a data marketplace, then sketch massing in 3D or let site automation generate layout options. Every proposal can be run through environmental analyses and exported to Revit as a geolocated native model.
It serves anyone working in predesign and schematic design: architects, urban planners and real estate developers who need to test options before committing to detailed modeling. The analysis suite covers sun hours and daylight potential, wind speed and pedestrian comfort, microclimate, noise (a rapid AI version and a detailed simulation), solar energy potential, shadow studies, view analysis, area metrics and total carbon for US locations. Modeling tools include a housing tool, a line building generator, a parking estimator and a floor plan editor, with IFC and OBJ import. Forma Board adds real time design review, where teams compare options, annotate and bring in Revit sheets without breaking data connections. Dynamo, Rhino and App Store extensions plug in, and Forma Building Design continues the work into schematic design.
Autodesk publishes the subscription price as $59 per month, $700 per year or $2,100 for three years. Forma is also included in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction Collection at $460 per month, $3,675 per year or $11,030 for three years. A 30 day free trial is offered, Flex tokens allow pay as you go access, and Business and Enterprise Success Plans are quoted on request.
