About EchoFox
EchoFox is a transcription service that works entirely inside WhatsApp. A user adds it as a contact and forwards any voice message to it, and the service returns a written transcription in the same chat. Long recordings can also be condensed into a summary. The purpose is to let people read messages they cannot or do not want to listen to, and to make the contents searchable afterward.
It is built for people who receive a high volume of voice notes: sales staff, agents, managers and anyone working somewhere too noisy or too quiet to play audio. Transcription covers more than 90 languages with automatic language detection, and recent additions extend it to uploaded audio files and video, with YouTube links listed as planned. The vendor states that voice messages are not stored, that transcriptions are encrypted, and that transcriptions are deleted after 24 hours, leaving a window in which they can still be summarized. Because everything happens through a WhatsApp contact, there is no separate app to install.
Two plans are published. Personal costs $27 per month and includes unlimited voice messages and summaries, audio up to three minutes long, 200 minutes of transcription credit, a normal transcription queue and audio file transcription. Pro costs $97 per month and raises those limits to audio up to 20 minutes long, unlimited minutes, a dedicated transcription queue and video transcription. Each plan displays a higher crossed out figure beside the current price, with no stated end date for the lower rate.
