GitHub Copilot is GitHub's AI pair programmer, delivering contextual assistance across the software development lifecycle: inline code completions and chat inside the editor, code explanations and documentation answers on GitHub.com, and agents that take on whole tasks. Developers can assign issues to the Copilot coding agent, or to Claude and OpenAI Codex agents inside GitHub, and let them plan, explore and execute the work autonomously before opening a pull request for review. It is built for individual developers, teams and enterprises already working on GitHub. Copilot integrates with Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs and Neovim and is native to GitHub itself, with a CLI and a Copilot app on the paid plans. Users choose from a range of models optimized for speed, accuracy or cost, with premium models on the higher tiers. Copilot code review and cloud agent access start at Pro, and Enterprise adds chat on GitHub.com grounded in an indexed copy of the organization's codebase. GitHub publishes the plans in US dollars. Copilot Free costs nothing and offers limited chat and agent usage, with 2,000 completions and 50 chat requests. Pro is $10 per month with 1,000 base credits, Pro+ is $39 per month with 3,900 credits, and Max is $100 per month with 10,000 credits and priority access to premium models. Copilot Business is $19 per granted seat per month with 1,900 credits per user, and Copilot Enterprise is $39 per granted seat per month with 3,900 credits per user.
