About Q Slack Chatbot
Q, ChatGPT for Slack, is a Slack app that brings an OpenAI powered assistant into a workspace. People mention @Q in any channel, or message it directly, and it answers the way ChatGPT would, but inside the conversation where the team already works and visible to everyone in the thread.
The app reads the thread it is mentioned in, and can read URLs and files on request. Supported links include arXiv papers, YouTube, Google Slides, Docs and Sheets, and Notion, including pages that need authentication. Supported files include audio, video, PDF, images, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, text, CSV and code. Teams can set Custom Instructions that hold their rules, guidelines and templates so that everyone gets consistent output for tasks such as emails, translations, reports and copywriting. Plugins such as Google search and document search are available, and the site states that the app does not store conversation content and that OpenAI keeps it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
Q offers a 14 day free trial with no credit card required. Paid plans are priced per user per year: Entry is $80, with about 1M tokens and roughly 600 uses a year, Standard is $200 with unlimited usage and email and Slack Connect support, and Premium is $320. The number of subscribed users is chosen at purchase.
