Prices and features checked against each vendor on September 28, 2026.
Canva is a browser-based design platform for social posts, presentations, documents, print and video, with the Magic Studio AI tools built in. As of September 2026 Canva Free is $0 with 5 GB of storage and up to 20 Standard or Premium AI uses, Canva Pro is US$144 per year, which Canva presents as US$12 per month on annual billing, and Canva Business is US$250 per year per person. Enterprise is custom priced, and Canva's pricing page states that Canva Teams is no longer available for new sign-ups or upgrades.
The retirement of Canva Teams is the trigger for many switches. A group that wants shared brand kits, approvals and admin tools now has to buy Canva Business at US$250 per person per year, which is 74% more than Pro's US$144, and Business is sold on a pay-as-you-grow per-person basis rather than a flat team price. The AI allowance is another sore point: Canva describes it only as multiples of the Free plan's 20 uses, so Pro is 10x more AI than Free and Business and Enterprise are 20x more AI than Free, and heavy Magic Studio users can exhaust that inside a month with no way to buy more short of upgrading.
The Free plan has also become thin for anyone with a brand: one Brand Kit limited to 3 colors and 5 GB of storage, with premium templates, the larger asset library and social scheduling reserved for Pro. People who mainly need one job done, such as removing backgrounds from product photos, building a slide deck, or generating images from partner models, often find a specialist tool does it better for less, and design teams that need real vector tooling, developer handoff or prototyping have outgrown Canva altogether. The alternatives below are grouped by that job.
Built from each tool's listing. Vendors can update their own listing after claiming it.
Best for: Product and marketing teams that need real design tooling, prototyping and developer handoff
Figma is the collaborative design platform for interfaces, and it now includes Figma Slides on every seat, Figma Buzz for on-brand marketing assets, and Figma Make for prompt-based prototypes on Full seats. The Starter plan is free with 150 AI credits a day up to 500 a month. Professional is $16 per month for a Full seat with 3,000 AI credits a month, $12 for a Dev seat and $3 for a Collab seat. Organization is annual only at $55 per Full seat, and Enterprise is $90 per Full seat with 4,250 AI credits a month. Figma's seat model means non-designers can collaborate for $3 to $5 a month, where Canva Business charges every person the same US$250 a year.
Best for: Generative image and video work with Adobe Express Premium and Photoshop included at the Pro tier
Adobe Firefly is Adobe's generative AI studio, and its Pro tier bundles Adobe Express Premium, which is Adobe's closest equivalent to Canva. The Free plan includes limited daily generations across image, video and audio. Firefly Standard is $9.99 per month for 2,000 generative credits, Firefly Pro is $19.99 per month for 4,000 credits plus Adobe Express Premium and Photoshop web and mobile, Firefly Pro Plus is $49.99 per month for 10,000 credits, and Firefly Premium offers 50,000 credits. Paid plans include partner models from Google, OpenAI and Flux, and unlimited standard image features such as Generative Fill, so the AI allowance is a credit count rather than a multiple of a free tier.
Best for: Presentation-first teams that want AI generation, engagement analytics and shared pitch rooms
Pitch is a presentation tool with AI generation, custom templates and analytics on shared links. The Free plan is $0 with 100 one-time AI credits, unlimited presentations and 2 external guests. Plus is $13 per month on annual billing with 500 renewing AI credits a month, custom fonts, video uploads and unbranded PowerPoint exports. Team is $19 per month for 1 to 25 seats with 25 advanced links with engagement analytics and 3 teamspaces, and Business is $25 per month for up to 200 seats with unlimited advanced links, teamspaces and pitch rooms. If decks are most of what you make in Canva, Pitch's Plus plan is close to Canva Pro's price with analytics Canva does not offer.
Best for: E-commerce sellers who need background removal, AI product shots and batch exports
Photoroom is a product photo editor built around background removal, AI backgrounds and AI fashion models. Pro is $12.99 per month or $7.50 per month billed yearly with 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 exports a month. Max is $34.99 per month or $20.99 per month yearly with 25,000 credits, 3,000 exports and the video generator, and Ultra is $99 per month or $82.50 yearly with 75,000 credits, 10,000 exports and 4K output. Enterprise adds adjustable AI shadows, visual QA tools, an SLA and SSO. Photoroom's credit counts are explicit, which is a relief after Canva's multiples-of-Free AI allowance, and the yearly Pro rate is well under Canva Pro.

Best for: Photo and video editing with a large library of AI models and brand kits
Picsart is a creative editor with photo and video tools, background and object removal, stock photos and Getty clips, and a set of AI agents. Pro is $11.66 per month billed yearly and includes bulk editing of up to 50 images, 3 or more brand kits, 100 GB of cloud storage, unlimited image generation with Flex.2 Klein and parallel video generations. Ultra is $53.75 per month billed yearly with access to over 140 AI video, image and audio models, bulk editing of up to 100 images, 10 or more brand kits, ad variations and localization, and 300 GB of storage per seat. Picsart Pro's storage matches Canva Pro's 100 GB at a similar annual price.

Best for: Cheap photo editing and AI generation for individuals
Pixlr is a browser-based photo editor with AI generation added. Plus is $2.49 per month or $1.99 per month yearly with 80 AI credits a month, ad-free editing and unlimited saves. Premium is $9.99 per month or $7.99 yearly with 1,000 AI credits a month, access to all image, video and audio models, 4 concurrent generations and private mode. Ultra is $24.99 per month or $19.99 yearly with up to 10,000 credits, unlimited fast image generations and a priority queue, and Ultra MAX is $49.99 per month or $39.99 yearly with double the Ultra credits. Purchased credit packs never expire, which Canva does not offer.

Best for: Generating presentations, documents and simple websites from a prompt
Gamma generates slide decks, documents and web pages from a prompt and is the closest thing to Canva's AI presentation maker as a standalone product. The Free plan creates up to 10 slides per prompt with Gamma branding. Plus includes 1,000 monthly credits, up to 100 slides per prompt and removes the Made with Gamma badge, Pro includes 4,000 monthly credits, API access, custom branding and up to 10 custom domains, and Ultra includes 20,000 monthly credits, the most advanced text, image and video models and up to 100 custom domains. Gamma's help center says annual plans are 28% cheaper than monthly; check the vendor's pricing page for the current per-user rates.
If Canva Teams going away is the problem, Figma Professional gives a team full design seats at $16 and collaborator seats at $3, which is cheaper per person than Canva Business. If your Canva use is mostly product photos, Photoroom Pro at $7.50 per month yearly does the job better, and if it is mostly decks, Pitch Plus or Gamma is the specialist choice. Adobe Firefly Pro at $19.99 is the pick when you want generative AI credits you can actually count plus Adobe Express Premium in the same bill.
