Prices and features checked against each vendor on September 28, 2026.
Lovable is a chat-driven builder that turns prompts into websites and web apps, hosts them, and provides a Cloud layer for backend features, with no coding required. As of September 2026 the Free plan grants 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits and 4 AI credits a month. Pro starts at $25 per month for 100 credits and runs through tiers of 200, 400, 800, 1,200, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, 7,500 and 10,000 credits up to $2,250 per month, while Business starts at $50 per month for the same credit ladder up to $4,300, and Enterprise is priced on volume. Annual billing is offered at a discount, top-ups cost $15 per 50 credits on Pro and $30 per 50 on Business, and workspaces allow unlimited members on every plan.
Credits are the sticking point. Lovable's own docs show that in default mode the cost of a message varies with task complexity, with examples ranging from half a credit for a style change to just under two credits for a landing page with generated images, and unused monthly credits expire two months after they are issued. The Free plan's 5 daily build credits do not roll over, so it is fine for experiments but not for a sustained project, and once you are on Pro the honest question is which credit tier you need, because 100 credits at $25 disappears quickly when the agent takes several attempts to fix a bug. Business doubles the price per credit for team features such as shared workspaces and stricter data handling.
The second reason is ceiling and ownership. Lovable is excellent at front-ends and simple full-stack apps, but developers who need custom backend logic, mobile apps or deployment on their own infrastructure often outgrow it. The alternatives below include other credit-based builders with different price points, visual no-code platforms with flat plans, and developer tools that generate code you own in a normal repository.
Built from each tool's listing. Vendors can update their own listing after claiming it.

Best for: Builders who want an agent that handles the whole stack, including databases and deployment, from one workspace.
Replit Agent builds, runs and deploys full applications inside Replit's browser workspace, with hosting, databases and integrations included, and it is comfortable with backend logic that Lovable's front-end focus can struggle with. Core is $20 per month, or $18 billed annually, with $20 of usage toward the most powerful models and a Free Mode allowance of up to 30 hours of chat and 60 projects; Pro is $100 per month, or $90 annually, with $100 toward the most powerful models, 10 parallel agents, up to 15 collaborators and 28-day database rollback. Beyond the included amounts Replit bills agent work on an effort basis and deployed apps incur separate compute and data charges, so it trades Lovable's credit ladder for a different kind of metering.

Best for: People who want web and mobile apps from a conversation with GitHub integration on the entry plan.
Emergent builds production-ready apps through chat with agents that design, code and deploy, and unlike Lovable it explicitly targets mobile as well as web. Free includes 10 monthly credits, Standard is $20 per month, or $17 annually, with 100 credits, private hosting, GitHub integration and task forking, and Pro is $200 per month, or $167 annually, with 750 credits, a larger context window, custom agents and priority support. Business and Enterprise are custom priced with SSO, role-based access, audit logs and VPC deployment. At 100 credits for $20 it undercuts Lovable's 100-credit Pro tier by $5, although credit consumption rates differ between the two products.
Best for: Founders who want a visual, no-code builder with flat plans and native mobile output.
Bubble is a visual builder for web and native mobile apps with hosting included, and it does not charge per prompt because you assemble the app in an editor rather than by chat. Free includes 50,000 workload units a month for development, Starter is $59 per month billed annually with 175,000 units, a live site and a custom domain, Growth is $209 per month with 250,000 units, version control and two app editors, and Team is $549 per month with 500,000 units and five editors. Workload units are a usage meter, but they are published per plan, and the native mobile editor addresses a gap in Lovable's web-only output.

Best for: Teams building client portals, internal tools and workflows on a database with predictable plan limits.
Softr builds apps, portals and workflows on top of its own database and connected sources, with an AI co-builder that gets a fixed number of credits per plan rather than being the whole product. After the Free plan, Basic is $19 per month with 10 AI credits, one builder, a custom domain, 50,000 records and 2,500 workflow actions a month, Pro is $99 per month with 50 AI credits, two builders, 500,000 records and 10,000 workflow actions, and Business is $329 per month with 100 AI credits, with Enterprise on request. It will not generate arbitrary custom apps the way Lovable does, but for portals and CRUD tools the limits are published and the monthly price does not swing with how many prompts you send.

Best for: Anyone who wants the app built in a real repository they own, ready for any host.
Claude Code is Anthropic's coding agent, available in the terminal, in VS Code and JetBrains, on the web and on desktop, and it works on ordinary Git repositories, so the result is code you can deploy anywhere rather than an app hosted inside a builder. It is included with Claude Pro at $20 per month, or $17 on annual billing, and with Max at $100 or $200 per month for five or twenty times the Pro usage; Team seats are $25 per month, or $20 annually. The learning curve is higher than Lovable's chat window, but there is no credit ladder, no hosting bill from the vendor and no ceiling on what the app can do.
Best for: ChatGPT subscribers who want a cloud coding agent that works from their GitHub repositories at no extra cost.
Codex is OpenAI's coding agent on the web, in a CLI, as an IDE extension and on iOS, bundled with ChatGPT plans. The pricing docs list Free for quick tasks, Go at $8 per month, Plus at $20 per month with Codex on every surface and cloud integrations, Pro from $100 per month with five or twenty times the Plus limits, and Business at $20 per user per month billed annually. Usage is measured as messages per five-hour window shared with other agentic features, or you can pay per token with an API key. For someone already on ChatGPT Plus it replaces the Lovable subscription outright, with the app living in a normal repository.
Best for: People who only need a marketing site and want hosting, a domain and an AI builder on one cheap plan.
Hostinger bundles its AI website builder with web hosting, so if Lovable was being used for a brochure site or landing page this is the cheapest route. The hosting page lists Premium at $2.99 per month on the introductory term, renewing at $10.99, with 3 websites, 20 GB storage and 5 AI Builder credits, Unlimited at $3.99 renewing at $16.99 with unlimited websites, 50 GB NVMe storage and 15 AI Builder credits, and Cloud Startup at $7.99 renewing at $25.99 with 100 GB storage. Every plan includes a free domain for the first year and a 30-day money-back guarantee. It is not for web apps with logic and users, but it is a fraction of Lovable's price for static sites.
If you want to keep prompting apps into existence, Emergent's $20 Standard plan and Replit Core at $20 are the direct competitors, with Emergent closer to Lovable's credit model and Replit better for backend-heavy builds. If you have outgrown chat builders, Claude Code on Claude Pro or Codex on ChatGPT Plus, both $20 per month, build in a repository you own. Bubble and Softr suit founders and operations teams who prefer flat plans and visual editing, and Hostinger is the budget pick for plain websites.
