Facts checked against both vendors on September 28, 2026.
Lovable is the faster route to a polished web app for someone who does not want to look at code, with credit-based plans from $25 a month and a free tier that publishes to a live URL. Replit is the more general platform: a real cloud IDE with an agent, databases, storage and hosting, from $20 a month, that also handles mobile apps, dashboards and tools that need a runtime. Pick Lovable for front-end-heavy products and speed; pick Replit for anything that needs a full development environment.
Lovable and Replit are the two platforms most often compared by founders, designers and product teams who want to build software from a description. Both generate a working application from prompts, both host it for you, and both charge by usage rather than by seat alone.
This comparison sticks to what each vendor publishes on its own pricing and documentation pages as of September 2026.
Lovable describes itself as a full-stack AI development platform for building, iterating on and deploying web applications using natural language. You describe the product and it generates the frontend, backend, database, authentication and integrations as editable code. Projects sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, publish to live URLs with custom domains on paid plans, and live in shared workspaces where a group builds from one plan and a shared pool of credits.
Replit is a browser-based development platform with Replit Agent at its center. The Agent sets up the project, creates the application, checks its work and fixes problems, covering code, infrastructure, testing and deployment. It builds web apps, mobile apps, data dashboards and AI tools, in one project. It offers Free Mode for everyday work within your plan, Power Mode and Max Mode for heavier tasks, and a Plan Mode to map out work before code changes. Connectors include BigQuery, Linear, Slack and Notion. Published apps, production databases and object storage run on Replit's infrastructure.
Lovable's Free plan is $0 with 5 build credits a day up to 30 a month, 20 Cloud credits and 4 AI credits a month, Git sync, unlimited workspace members and workspace-private projects, but no code editing, custom domains or design templates. Pro starts at $25 a month, or $250 a year, with 100 credits a month plus the daily build credits, credit rollovers, top-ups at $0.30 a credit, code editing, custom domains, design systems, GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket sync and user roles, with larger tiers up to $2,250 a month. Business starts at $50 a month, or $500 a year, with top-ups at $0.60 a credit, and adds design templates, internal publishing, the Lovable API, role-based access, SSO and a security center, with tiers up to $4,300 a month. Enterprise is volume-based and adds SCIM, audit logs and scheduled security scans.
Replit's Starter plan is free with daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap, monthly cloud credits for databases, object storage and publishing, 2 GB of workspace storage, one published app with a Made with Replit badge, and the Lite build only. Core is $20 a month, or $18 a month billed annually, with $20 towards the most powerful models, up to 30 hours of chat and 60 projects on Free Mode, Plan Mode, unlimited workspaces, Full build, unlimited published apps and connectors. Pro is $100 a month, or $90 a month billed annually, with $100 towards models, 10 parallel agents, up to 15 collaborators, up to 50 viewers, database rollback up to 28 days and premium support. Enterprise is custom with SSO or SAML, single-tenant environments and static outbound IPs.
It is the more direct path to a finished-looking web product. Lovable's pitch is natural language in, working frontend, backend, auth and database out, and its paid plans add design systems and, on Business, design templates. If the goal is a customer-facing app that needs to look good on day one, Lovable is optimized for that.
Credit pricing is explicit. The docs publish what common actions cost in credits and what a top-up credit costs on each plan, so you can estimate a project's spend before you start.
Governance arrives earlier. Business at $50 a month includes SSO, role-based access and a security center, and the vendor lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. Replit reserves SSO and SAML for its custom-priced Enterprise plan. Git sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket is available even on Free, and workspaces support unlimited members on every plan.
It is a full development environment, not only an app generator. Replit's workspace is a browser IDE with a terminal, a runtime, production databases and object storage, so it handles backends, scheduled jobs, data dashboards, mobile apps and anything else that needs to run rather than only render. Lovable is built around web applications.
The Agent's operating modes give more control. Plan Mode produces a reviewable task list before any code changes, Free Mode covers everyday work inside your subscription, and Power and Max Modes escalate to stronger models when a task needs them. Pro runs 10 parallel agents, and database rollback up to 28 days protects data during aggressive iteration.
The entry price is lower. Core is $20 a month or $18 a month annually against Lovable Pro at $25 a month, and Core's $20 towards models is a dollar allowance rather than a credit count.
Pick Lovable if you are a founder, designer or product team building a web application and you want the shortest distance to something you can show customers. Pick it if you want SSO and role-based access at $50 a month, and if code synced to your own git host is the main thing you need from ownership.
Pick Replit if what you are building needs a runtime, a database you can inspect, a terminal or a mobile target, if you expect to drop into the code often, or if you are teaching or prototyping across many small projects.
