AI Engine is a WordPress plugin from Meow Apps that adds AI features to a site using the owner's own provider accounts and API keys. It connects OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Perplexity and OpenRouter behind one interface, with no markup on tokens, and provides chatbots, content and image generation, an editor copilot and a set of tools that let AI agents manage the site. It suits site owners, agencies and developers who want AI inside WordPress without a hosted middleman. Chatbots can be popup, inline or fullscreen, support voice and file uploads, and can answer from the site's own content through embeddings stored in Pinecone, Qdrant, Chroma or the OpenAI vector store. The plugin turns WordPress into an MCP server so Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code can read and edit the site through conversation, and a REST API exposes it to n8n, Make or custom scripts. Workspace is a full screen AI chat app inside the admin area with a free companion app for iPhone, iPad and Android. Insights tracks token spend per user and per query with limits. The Pro version adds AI forms, function calling into WordPress or WooCommerce, embeddings, cross site chatbots and custom assistants. The core plugin is free. AI Engine Pro is sold as yearly licenses at $79 for one website, $99 for five and $179 for twenty, or as lifetime licenses at $499 for five websites, $799 for twenty, $999 for 500 and $1,699 for 2,500. Prices include a year of developer support, and lifetime licenses keep updates but support only for the first year. The Neko Pass bundle of all Meow Apps plugins, at $199 a year, does not include the AI Engine add ons.
