AICommit

AICommit is a JetBrains IDE plugin that writes commit messages with AI. It reads the staged diff and produces a commit message in one click from the VCS commit panel, so developers in IntelliJ IDEA, WebStorm and other JetBrains IDEs no longer start from a blank field. It is for developers and teams who work inside JetBrains tools and want consistent, descriptive commit history. The plugin works with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, DeepSeek and Ollama, as well as custom API endpoints, and users can switch provider and model without editing a configuration file. A Prompt Lab brings provider selection, prompt templates and generation history into one place, and built in or custom templates cover formats such as Conventional Commits and release notes. On privacy, the vendor states that AICommit never collects or logs code or commit messages: for cloud generation the staged diff goes only to the provider the user configures, and with Ollama everything can stay on the local machine. AICommit is distributed and billed through the JetBrains Marketplace with a 30 day free trial. Personal plans start at $1 per month or $10 per year, and commercial plans start at $3 per month or $30 per year. Because generation runs through the user's own chosen provider, any model usage charges from that provider are separate from the plugin license.
