About Glasp
Glasp is a social web highlighter and AI knowledge tool for saving what a person reads and watches. Users highlight web pages, PDFs, YouTube transcripts and Kindle books, and can make highlights public so others see what readers find valuable. The name stands for Greatest Legacy Accumulated as Shared Proof. It was founded by Kazuki Nakayashiki and a cofounder with the stated aim of making knowledge visible.
AI features include a YouTube video summarizer, PDF upload and chat, audio file transcription and summaries, YouTube channel tracking, and Ask AI Clone, which lets a user chat with their own highlights and memories. Idea Hatch generates ideas from saved highlights. Glasp offers Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox extensions, iOS and Android apps, and a Glasp Reader. Highlights export or sync to Obsidian, Notion, Readwise, Pocket, Matter, Raindrop, Instapaper, Medium, Hypothesis, Diigo and others. An API and an MCP connector for Claude and ChatGPT are also available.
Highlighting is free and stays free. The Free plan includes unlimited public highlights with limited daily and monthly AI usage. Pro is $12.50 per month billed as $150 per year, or $180 per year on monthly billing, and adds private highlights and larger AI limits across all models. Unlimited is $30 per month billed as $360 per year, or $432 on monthly billing, with higher quotas, unlimited PDF uploads and priority support. Prices are in US dollars, and a student discount exists.
