About nanit
Nanit is a smart baby monitor that pairs a 1080p HD camera with computer vision software to track a baby's sleep, breathing motion and activity and deliver the results to a parent's phone. Live video and customizable alerts for crying, coughing and motion work without a subscription, while the analytics layer uses computer vision, machine learning and sleep science to work out when a baby is asleep or awake, detect a parent's approach to the crib and generate sleep recommendations.
It is aimed at parents and caregivers who want more than a basic video feed. Breathing motion monitoring uses patterned Breathing Wear rather than a sensor on the child, and the camera integrates with Nanit's Sound and Light Machine and Home Display. Nanit says it has trained its algorithms to do what a wearable device cannot, including distinguishing sleep from wakefulness from video alone.
Hardware pricing starts at $289.99 for the Smart Baby Monitor System, $249.00 for the Smart Baby Monitor with Flex Stand and $369.00 for the Best Sellers Bundle. Subscriptions are optional: the Sleep Plan includes a free introductory trial, the Memories Plan costs $120 per year and adds 24/7 video history and automatically captured moments, and the Milestones Plan costs $300 per year with advanced sleep analytics and a broader view of the baby's wellness. The home page does not state what the Sleep Plan costs once the trial ends.
