About NSFW JS
NSFW JS is an open source JavaScript library that classifies images as indecent or safe directly in the browser. Because the model runs on the client, images do not need to be uploaded to a server to be checked, which suits moderation of user uploads, camera input and similar features in web applications.
The project is aimed at web developers who need quick content screening. The demo site loads a MobileNetV2 based model and lets visitors test it with their own images or a camera, with a blur protection option. Three model sizes are offered, described as roughly 90 percent accurate at 2.6 MB, 93 percent accurate at 4.2 MB, and 93 percent accurate in a much larger build. The maintainers state that the model is tuned to err toward classifying content as inappropriate rather than clean, so false positives are expected, and they invite contributions to a data scraper and a trainer so future models improve.
The site lists no pricing and presents the library as a community project rather than a commercial service.
