About Heuristica
Heuristica is an AI learning platform that turns source material into study tools. Users drop in a PDF, YouTube video, podcast episode, article or web link, or import from academic sources such as PubMed and arXiv, and Heuristica reshapes it into concept maps, flashcards, quizzes, study notes, mind maps or essays.
The concept map maker is the core feature. Users build maps to organize complex topics, enrich nodes with resources from Wikipedia, arXiv, Semantic Scholar, YouTube and websites, and then convert a map into other study formats. Flashcards use spaced repetition, quizzes come in multiple formats, and decks and quizzes can be shared with classmates or colleagues. The platform also generates transcripts, summaries and key takeaways from videos, lets users chat with their documents, and offers an AI chat that can switch between models. Custom prompts and saved instructions are supported.
It is aimed at students, researchers, teachers and lifelong learners, for example for literature reviews or dissertation planning. The vendor says it runs on models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Qwen, and the paid tier lists models including GPT 5.4, Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Gemini 3.1 Pro.
Pricing: a Basic plan is free, using GPT 5.4 mini, with a maximum of three saved concept maps and limited functionality. The Professional plan is shown at $5 per month when billed yearly at $59.99, described as a 50 percent saving, and can be cancelled anytime. It adds hundreds of saved maps, quizzes and flashcards, the full model list and collaboration features.
