Kater.ai is a business intelligence platform that turns company data into structured decision trees, which the vendor calls Data Playbooks, instead of static dashboards. A playbook maps a business objective to the questions to ask, the hypotheses to verify, how to read the data, and what action to take next. In the vendor's example, a question about last week's sales performance leads through follow up checks on marketing activity, store layouts, order value and units per transaction. Playbooks rest on a shared semantic layer, so every user works from the same definitions and metrics. A feature called Butler AI answers follow up questions on its own, and the vendor says it lets stakeholders self serve around 80 percent of them without waiting on a data team. The platform also supports tracking which decisions were made from the data. Kater is aimed at executives and business stakeholders who know what is happening in the business but need help interpreting it, and at data teams who want to capture analyst logic once and reuse it. On security, the vendor states it is SOC 2 compliant and ISO 27001 certified, with data encrypted in transit and at rest. The company was founded by former data engineers and analysts.
