About Posit
Posit is a data science platform for enterprise teams working in R and Python. It covers the path from writing code to publishing and governing results, and the company grew from the open source RStudio project. The platform is positioned as a governed environment where analysis, models and AI powered applications can be inspected, verified and repeated.
Its main products fit together. Positron is a free code editor made for data science with Python and R. Posit AI embeds a specialized agent directly into Positron and RStudio to help with data analysis. Posit Workbench provides a centrally managed environment where data scientists can use RStudio, Positron, VS Code or Jupyter with scalable compute. Posit Connect and Connect Cloud publish apps, dashboards, APIs and reports from the IDE while IT controls access and security from one console. Posit Package Manager governs R and Python packages through curated repositories, vulnerability reports, blocking rules and date based snapshots, and those policies extend to the package recommendations of AI coding assistants. The company also lists a native integration with Snowflake.
Pricing is handled through sales. The pricing page describes three packages for teams, Basic, Enhanced and Advanced, and lists categories for academic, individual product and small and medium business buyers. Basic supports up to 10 developers and 50 viewers, Enhanced up to 100 developers and 500 viewers, and Advanced as many as needed, with team product pricing based on named users. Dollar amounts are not published, and visitors are directed to talk to sales.
