About Refact AI
Refact.ai is an open source autonomous coding agent that works inside the IDE. A developer describes a task and the agent plans it, searches the repository, writes and edits code, runs steps and reports back, with a way to preview and control what it does. It can connect to tools such as GitHub, databases and CI/CD pipelines, and users can pick the language model they prefer.
Beyond the agent, the product includes an in IDE chat for asking, editing and debugging in natural language with project context, and code completion that predicts the next lines, functions or classes. Completion uses a Qwen coder model together with retrieval augmented generation over the project. The vendor positions it as an open source alternative to Cursor and Copilot, with options to fine tune to a codebase and to deploy self hosted or on premises so code stays under the customer's control. An enterprise offering is available through a demo booking.
The site displays a notice that Refact Cloud is shutting down soon, with a link to read more, so the self hosted route is the lasting option. The company behind it is Small Magellanic Cloud AI Ltd, founded by a former OpenAI team member.
A current price list is not shown on the pricing path of the site, and enterprise terms are quoted on request.
