About SEC Insights
SEC Insights is a web application from LlamaIndex for asking questions of SEC filings. A user selects up to ten annual or quarterly filings (the 10K and 10Q forms) in one session, then asks questions in plain language and receives streamed answers with paragraph level citations that link back to the highlighted passage in the source PDF. Questions can span several documents at once, which makes it practical to compare disclosures across companies or reporting periods.
It suits analysts, students and developers who want a working example of retrieval augmented generation over long financial documents. Beyond the hosted app, the project is a reference implementation: the full stack is open source under the MIT license on GitHub, with a Next.js front end, a FastAPI back end, OpenAI models for generation, pgvector for embeddings, PDF viewing with highlighting, response streaming and infrastructure code for production and preview deployments on Vercel and Render.
There is no pricing. The hosted app at secinsights.ai is free to use, and the repository can be cloned and self hosted with a developer's own OpenAI key and infrastructure.
Buyers should treat it as a demonstration rather than a supported product. It exists to show how LlamaIndex builds a production shaped RAG system, and it is maintained as an open source example rather than sold as a service with uptime or support commitments.
