It is built for content marketers, SEO specialists, agencies and in house teams who want drafts and page updates grounded in search demand rather than guesswork. Around the content tools, the platform covers keyword research, competitor analysis, rank tracking, technical site audits, digital PR, backlink analysis and local SEO, plus newer AI visibility features that measure how a brand appears in AI generated answers, monitor custom prompts and track brand sentiment. Semrush also exposes its dataset through an MCP server and an API for use inside AI assistants. Pricing is published for the platform rather than for the content tools on their own. A free tier is offered for trying the platform with no credit card. Paid plans run at $139 per month for SEO, $199 per month for SEO plus AI Search, $299 per month for the multiple market tier and $549 per month for the top tier, with annual billing reducing each by up to 17 percent. Add ons are priced separately, including additional users from $45 per month and reporting from $10 per month. Semrush no longer lists a product under the Content Toolkit name.
