About Spellbook
Spellbook is an AI contract platform that works inside Microsoft Word and Google Docs. Lawyers use it to review agreements and generate redlines, spot risky or aggressive terms and missing clauses, draft new clauses or whole agreements from templates and precedents, benchmark terms against market standards, and ask questions about a contract in plain language. Playbooks encode an organization's own standards into checklists that the review applies automatically.
It is built for in house legal teams and law firms, with sector pages for energy, healthcare, financial services, technology, manufacturing and retail. The product suite combines the Word integration with Spellbook Associate, and the newer Autonomous Contract Management handles intake, storage and renewal monitoring so agreements are tracked after signature. It connects to Slack, Dropbox, SharePoint and iManage, and the vendor lists SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR and EU AI Act compliance with a zero data retention policy for customer contracts.
Pricing is not published. Spellbook states that licenses are priced by the number of team members and offers separate packages for law firms and in house teams, each including the suite, training sessions and online support, with dedicated support for teams over 10 and a playbook build service for in house teams. A seven day free trial is available, and academic institutions can get free access through partnership programs.
