Runway is an AI video platform offering its own Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0 models alongside third-party models such as Seedance 2.0, plus image generation and editing tools. As of September 2026 the Free plan is $0 with 125 one-time credits and 5 GB of storage, Standard is $15 per month or $12 per month billed annually with 625 credits a month, Pro is $35 per month or $28 annually with 2,250 credits, and Max is $95 per month or $76 annually with 9,500 credits, 500 GB of storage and credits that roll over for one month. Enterprise is priced through sales.
Credits are the sticking point. Runway's pricing page prices a 5-second Gen-4.5 clip at 60 credits and a 5-second Aleph 2.0 clip at 140 credits, so Standard's 625 credits buy roughly ten short Gen-4.5 generations a month, and the Free plan's 125 credits are a one-time allowance rather than a monthly refresh. Credits on Standard and Pro do not roll over, so an unused month is lost, and only Max at $95 per month carries a balance forward. People who remember Runway's earlier unlimited-generation offer find that the pricing page now lists only Free, Standard, Pro, Max and Enterprise.
The second driver is model choice. Runway now resells Seedance alongside its own models, which is an admission that no single lab wins every shot, and competitors have gone further by bundling Kling, Veo, Nano Banana and their own models in one subscription, often with unlimited generation on selected models at the higher tiers. Others compete on price per credit at the low end, on free plans with no watermark, or on a specific job such as avatar presenters or script-to-video ads. If your work is mostly one of those, a specialist will be cheaper than Runway Pro.

Best for: Cheap experimentation with no watermark on any plan and access to every model
Pika is a video and image generator whose plans all include every available model and no watermarks. The Free plan is $0 with no monthly credits, only purchasable packs, and no commercial licence. Starter is $10 per month or $8 per month annually with 900 credits, 2 parallel video generations and no commercial licence. Creator is $35 per month or $28 annually with 3,150 credits, 8 parallel video generations and a commercial licence, and Fancy is $95 per month or $76 annually with 8,550 or more credits, unlimited parallel generations, a priority queue and early access to new models. Plan credits do not roll over, but purchased top-ups last 365 days. Creator matches Runway Pro's price with more credits.

Best for: Larger credit pools that cover Luma's own models and third-party image and video models
Luma's Dream Machine sells its Ray models alongside third-party image and video models, with agents that plan and iterate on shots. Plus is $30 per month or $25 per month annually, billed at $300 a year, with 10,000 credits and commercial use. Pro is $90 per month or $75 annually with 40,000 credits and 4x usage with the Luma Agents, and Ultra is $300 per month or $250 annually with 150,000 credits and 15x agent usage. Team and Enterprise tiers are priced through sales. Credit costs per generation differ from Runway's, so compare the price of the clip length you actually make, but Plus's 10,000 credits at $30 is a much larger number than Runway Standard's 625 at $15.
Best for: The lowest price per credit for high-volume generation with commercial rights on every paid plan
Kling AI is the video and image studio behind the Kling models that several rivals resell. The Basic plan is free. Standard is $8.80 per month after a discounted first month with 660 credits a month, Pro is $32.56 per month with 3,000 credits, Premier is $80.96 per month with 8,000 credits and Ultra is $159.99 per month with 26,000 credits, and Kling shows its own price per 100 credits falling from $1.06 on Standard to $0.49 on Ultra. All paid tiers include brand watermark removal and state that generated content is for commercial use. First-month and annual discounts are shown on the membership page, so check the vendor's pricing page for the rate you will pay.

Best for: Unlimited generation windows on selected models including Kling 3.0 and Nano Banana
Higgsfield is a video and image platform that mixes its own Genjutsu model with third-party models. The Free plan has 0 credits and no commercial use. Starter is $19 per month, monthly or annually, with 270 credits and commercial use. Plus is $59 per month or $47 per month annually with 1,200 credits, and Ultra is $129 per month or $99 annually with 3,000 credits. Plus and Ultra include 7-day unlimited access windows to models such as Higgsfield Genjutsu, Nano Banana Pro and 2 and Kling 3.0, and concurrency rises from 1 job on Free to 8 on Ultra. The unlimited models are only available on higgsfield.ai, not through its MCP, CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer tools.
Best for: Creative Cloud users who want video generation from Adobe and partner models in one credit pool
Adobe Firefly generates image, video and audio and includes partner models from Google, OpenAI, Flux and others in its paid plans. The Free plan includes limited daily generations across image, video and audio. Firefly Standard is $9.99 per month for 2,000 generative credits, Firefly Pro is $19.99 per month for 4,000 credits with Adobe Express Premium and Photoshop web and mobile, Firefly Pro Plus is $49.99 per month for 10,000 credits with enhanced access to partner models, and Firefly Premium offers 50,000 credits with unlimited video generation on select models. For editors already paying Adobe, Pro Plus at $49.99 is the natural comparison to Runway Pro.

Best for: Video generation credits bundled with a general assistant, storage and YouTube Premium
Google's AI subscriptions include Google Flow credits for video generation alongside the Gemini assistant. Google AI Plus is $4.99 per month with 200 Flow credits, video generation access and 400 GB of storage. Google AI Pro is $19.99 per month with 1,000 Flow credits, 4x the Free usage limits, 5 TB of storage and YouTube Premium Lite. Google AI Ultra starts at $99.99 per month, with a $199.99 tier, and includes 10,000 or 25,000 Flow credits, 20 TB of storage and the full YouTube Premium plan. Flow credit costs per clip differ from Runway's credit costs, so test a clip on the free tier before deciding, but the bundle is unmatched if you also want an assistant and storage.

Best for: Talking-head presenter videos with custom avatars rather than cinematic generation
HeyGen is built around AI avatars that present scripts, with translation and lip sync. The Free plan allows 3 videos a month of up to 1 minute with a watermark and 1 custom avatar. Creator is $29 per month or $24 per month annually with 600 credits, removable watermark and videos up to 30 minutes. Pro is $49 per month with 1,000 credits, and Business is $149 per month plus $20 per seat, or $120 plus $20 per seat annually, with 1,500 credits, 5 or more custom avatars and 60-minute videos. Monthly subscribers' unused credits roll over for one more month, and annual subscribers' credits accumulate until renewal, which is more generous than Runway's no-rollover Standard and Pro plans.
Best for: Script-to-video marketing content with stock footage, voiceover and Seedance generation
invideo AI turns a prompt or script into a finished video with stock media, voiceover and generative clips, and now includes the Seedance models. Starter is $20 per seat per month with 400 credits a month, basic editing, Seedance 2.0 Fast and Mini and limited agent access. Plus is $60 per seat per month or $50 annually with 2,000 credits, all Seedance models, full agent access and 10 free guest seats. Max is $150 per seat per month or $100 annually with 5,000 credits, the lowest cost per credit and 20 free guest seats, and Enterprise is priced through sales. Unused credits do not roll over. It replaces Runway for people who need whole marketing videos rather than individual generated shots.
If you want a Runway-like generator with more credits per dollar, Pika Creator at $35 gives 3,150 credits against Runway Pro's 2,250, Luma Plus gives 10,000 credits for $30, and Kling Standard is the cheapest entry at $8.80 with commercial rights. Choose Higgsfield or Adobe Firefly if you want unlimited windows or one credit pool across Kling, Veo and Nano Banana models, and Google AI Pro if a bundled assistant and storage matter. HeyGen and invideo AI are the picks when the job is presenters or finished marketing videos rather than shots.
