Zappr AI now describes itself as a drag-and-drop AI automation engine for building and deploying AI agents, rather than a simple website chatbot. Its site centers on a Routine Engine with more than 150 pre-built blocks (LLM agents, OCR, voice and payment integrations), ready-made templates for inbound and outbound sales agents, 24/7 support agents, appointment scheduling, invoice processing and report generation, and deployment as cloud-hosted, self-hosted or white-labeled instances. There is no published price list: Zappr states it runs a revenue-sharing model with no upfront SaaS fees, so you build for free and Zappr earns only when you do, with demos and partnership inquiries for anything custom.
The absence of a public price is the first hurdle. Most buyers searching for a chatbot builder want a monthly plan with a known message allowance, and Zappr's revenue-share arrangement means the cost depends on a partnership conversation rather than a checkout page. The zappr.ai pricing URL returns a not-found page, and the homepage points prospects to a demo instead. That model can suit agencies who resell white-labeled agents, but it is a poor fit for a small business that just wants a support bot on its site with a predictable bill.
The second hurdle is that the product has broadened into an automation platform. If what you need is a chatbot trained on your help docs, a live chat inbox with AI answers, or a support agent that plugs into Zendesk or Intercom, several established tools do that with free tiers, self-serve pricing and clear per-message or per-resolution costs. The alternatives below are grouped that way: document-trained chatbots first, then agent builders, then support suites.
Built from each tool's listing. Vendors can update their own listing after claiming it.
Best for: Small businesses that want a support agent trained on their website and documents, with a free tier to start.
Chatbase builds AI agents from your site, files and help content and deploys them to a website widget and messaging channels, with AI actions for tasks like order lookups. The free plan gives 50 message credits a month, 1 agent and 1 MB of training content; Hobby is $40 a month for 700 credits and 10 MB; Standard is $150 a month for 4,000 credits, helpdesk, voice, telephony and API access; Pro is $500 a month for 15,000 credits. Yearly billing takes 20 percent off, extra agents are $25 a month each, auto-recharge is $40 per 1,000 credits and removing Chatbase branding is $99 a month. Unlike Zappr, every one of those numbers is on the pricing page.
Best for: Builders who want a visual agent studio with a large integration hub and a real free plan.
Botpress is the closest functional match to Zappr's drag-and-drop approach: a visual studio for designing agent flows, knowledge bases and integrations, deployable to web chat, WhatsApp, Slack and more. The free plan includes 25 conversations a month, 3 agents and 3 seats. Plus is $150 a month on annual billing for 250 conversations, $25 a month of included AI spend, unlimited agents, white-label web chat and a help center on a custom domain; Team is $750 a month on annual billing for 1,500 conversations, $150 of AI spend, unlimited seats, routing and role-based access. Extra conversations are sold in packs of 100 at $65 on Plus and $50 on Team.
Best for: Product and CX teams designing multi-step chat and voice agents with a credit-based bill they can forecast.
Voiceflow is a collaborative canvas for designing, testing and deploying chat and voice agents, with a knowledge base, API steps and a choice of LLMs. Its billing documentation lists a free Starter plan with 100 credits a month, Pro at $60 a month for 10,000 credits (or $648 a year for 120,000 annual credits) with access to all LLM models, and Business from $150 a month for 30,000 credits with LLM fallback models and priority support, with higher credit tiers available. Extra editor seats are $50 each on Pro and Business, and credits reset monthly or are granted up front on annual plans. It offers the design flexibility of Zappr with a published price.
Best for: Website owners who want a chatbot trained on their pages with predictable message caps and a short trial.
SiteGPT trains a chatbot on your website and documents and embeds it with a widget, adding integrations and an iOS app on higher tiers. Starter is $59 a month (or $468 a year, which SiteGPT presents as $39 a month) for 1 chatbot, 1,000 pages and up to 4,000 messages a month on GPT-4.1 mini or 400 on GPT-4.1; Growth is $129 a month (or $948 a year) for 2 chatbots, 10,000 pages and up to 10,000 messages with API access and advanced analytics; Scale is $429 a month (or $3,108 a year) for 3 chatbots, 50,000 pages, up to 40,000 messages, webhooks and a Zendesk AI agent. Every plan has a 7-day free trial. It is narrower than Zappr but exactly what many chatbot buyers want.
Best for: Companies that need retrieval-based answers over large document sets with an API and no hallucination-prone freeform chat.
CustomGPT.ai focuses on retrieval-augmented agents over your own content, with a RAG API on every plan. Standard is $99 a month (or $89 a month billed annually) for 10 agents, 5,000 documents per agent, 60 million words of storage, 1,000 queries a month and 3 team members; Premium is $499 a month (or $449 a month annually) for 25 agents, 20,000 documents per agent, 300 million words, 5,000 queries a month, automatic website sync and removal of CustomGPT branding; Enterprise is custom and includes forward-deployed engineers. The 7-day trial requires a card and converts automatically. Choose it when document scale and accuracy matter more than a visual flow builder.
Best for: Ecommerce and service businesses that want live chat, ticketing and the Lyro AI agent in one inbox.
Tidio is a customer service suite with live chat, email and ticketing, plus its Lyro AI agent that answers from your content and hands off to humans. The free plan covers 50 billable conversations a month, 10 seats and a one-time 50 Lyro AI conversations; Starter is $24.17 a month (or $290.04 a year) for 100 conversations a month; Growth starts at $49.17 a month (or $590.04 a year) from 250 conversations with analytics, automatic assignment and macros; Plus starts at $300 a month plus usage, and Premium is custom with at least 3,000 Lyro conversations and a guaranteed 50 percent AI resolution rate. It replaces Zappr for teams who need the human inbox as much as the bot.

Best for: Support teams that want the Fin AI agent on a pay-per-outcome basis, either standalone or with Intercom's helpdesk.
Intercom sells Fin, its AI support agent, at $0.99 per outcome, either on top of its helpdesk seats or standalone alongside a helpdesk you already run. Helpdesk seats are $29 a month on Essential, $85 on Advanced (with workflow automation, multiple team inboxes and 20 free Lite seats) and $132 on Expert (with SSO, HIPAA support, SLAs and 50 free Lite seats). A 14-day free trial covers all features, Fin and add-ons without a card. Paying per outcome is the opposite of Zappr's revenue share: the cost is tied to resolved conversations rather than to your revenue.
If you want a support bot trained on your content with a clear monthly bill, start with Chatbase or SiteGPT, both of which publish message allowances and trials. Botpress and Voiceflow are the picks if Zappr's drag-and-drop agent building was the attraction, since both offer visual studios with free plans and published credit or conversation pricing. Tidio and Intercom suit teams that need a human inbox behind the AI, and CustomGPT.ai is the choice when accuracy over large document sets and an API matter most.
